The summer has ended and our beloved students are back for another year filled with laughter and great times. The first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year is proving to be a wonderful success. We welcomed over 170 students from different cultures and backgrounds to be part of the UIS family and start their journey towards reaching greater horizons with us at Urban International School. Students eagerly arrived early and were introduced to the staff, teachers and their soon to be peers! Students were given catalogues, which includes important information about the school, and other resources to help them in and out of campus. Students were also given a presentation on the school, our rules, and what to expect. Students also met with representatives from RBC bank who helped them with opening their bank accounts and provided them with important information concerning the different terms, regulations and procedures. It was a successful orientation all in all, and the students had a great time.
UIS Climate Change Walk
Climate change is an international emergency. As the citizens of the world wake up to the dangers of our habits, people and especially students are taking a stand.
Students at Urban International School are no different. Climate Change has been a big topic in their classrooms and students have written, presented and have even made posters about global warming to create more awareness amongst the student body.
On October 11, 2019 – students walked with their teachers carrying posters and signs designed in different shapes and sizes and were overjoyed with the awareness their wonderful campaign had created
